Paraffin wax

Paraffin wax, a rigid and colorless or white wax, is composed of a combination of unbranched hydrocarbons. These hydrocarbons are solid and possess varying melting points, usually ranging from approximately 48°C to 66°C (120°F to 150°F).

Obtaining paraffin wax is achieved through dewaxing light lubricating oil reserves that originate from petroleum. After the dewaxing process of light lubricating oil reserves obtained from petroleum, paraffin wax is extracted. This wax has numerous applications including being utilized in candles, wax paper, polishes, cosmetics, and electrical insulators. It aids in the extraction of fragrances from flowers, serves as a foundation for medical ointments, and provides a waterproof layer for wood.
